Aug 19: 2nd Court Hearing

At MAT’s second hearing, the case was continued until October 8, with an agreement that they have until September 30 to apply for required permits. Discussion during the hearing indicated that MAT and the city prosecutor have been in conversation with the Dept of Planning and Development and the Commissioner of Buildings. Permitting from the Chicago Department of Transportation may also be required. The city inspector were last on site on August 18th. He reported no major changes to the parking lot, though there are ongoing operations at the site.

MAT’s attorney, Patrick Daley Thompson, appeared alone on behalf of the defendants, whose whereabouts were not stated. MPDC appeared to state community concerns about the lack of public amenities required under the River Design Guidelines.
